Amphibia at the international Lake Ohrid clean-up at Kalishta

On May 31, 2026, the Amphibia – Diving 4 Nature team joined the fourth international ecological action to clean Lake Ohrid, held at the beach next to Hotel Biser in Kalishta. The action started at 10 a.m. and brought together divers, volunteers, and nature lovers working side by side to protect one of the region's greatest natural treasures.

The initiative, organized by the underwater activities club "Ezerski Puls" and the "Skaut" diving club from Struga, has grown over the years into a recognizable international event. This year it again united participants from North Macedonia and guests from Serbia and Croatia. For us at Amphibia, taking part in such an action is a natural extension of what we believe — that caring for the lake and its underwater world is a shared responsibility for all of us.

Our divers focused on cleaning the underwater section, removing waste that otherwise stays invisible to anyone looking from shore but directly affects Lake Ohrid's sensitive ecosystem. Beyond the concrete contribution, the action also aims to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental protection.

Protecting nature is not solely the institutions' responsibility — it is part of every one of us. That's why Amphibia remains committed to a clean lake and healthy nature, because what we inherit today we leave to the next generations tomorrow.
